President's Message

This urgent cry which has become part of our folklore is still very much with us because everyone knows that firefighters love children; That they will perform almost superhuman feats of daring to save a child from fire, however, not everyone knows that FIREFIGHTERS KEEP ON CARING EVEN AFTER THE FIRE IS OUT!

Welcome

At this years American Burn Association Conference, as with every year, the staff of Cornell Burn Center submitted a multitude of research projects. We were in awe of the great research that is being done everyday inside the walls of the hospital to further burn care. We would like to congratulate every staff member on a fantastic job, and especially would like to congratulate the team who took 1st place in their category for their project on Digital Photography and Burn Center Clinician Workflow. Keep up the great work!!!!

2015 Ski Races

FDNY & East Coast Firefighter Races

NEW DATE March 10-11, 2015

Hunter Mountain is is proud to host one of the most unusual ski races to be found anywhere, as members of the New York Fire Department make their annual trip to Hunter Mountain.

On Tuesday, March 10th, 2015, teams of five firefighters dressed in full turn-out gear attempt to navigate through a race course while carrying a 50 foot fire hose.

This race is open to any New York City Firefighter. The winners of Tuesday's race have the chance to race in the East Coast Firefighter's Race on Wednesday for the East Coast Championship.

Proceeds from this event will be donated to the N.Y. Firefighters Burn Center Foundation.

Then on Wednesday, March 11th, 2015, it's the East Coast Firefighters Race. This day is open to any paid or volunteer fire company OUTSIDE of New York City. Proceeds from the East Coast Race goes to the charity of the winner's choice.
